We condemn, in the strongest possible terms, the vote today by Sen. Cassidy to convict former President Trump. Fortunately, clearer heads prevailed and President Trump has been acquitted of the impeachment charge filed against him.

The decision was met after debate over whether or not to hear witnesses in relation to the Jan. 6th riot at the United States Capitol. When previously the senate agrees 55 to 45 to subpoena witnesses. After breaking and voting for an hour an agreement was decided to not pursue further.
